Safe, Comfortable Micro Suction Ear Wax Removal
Did you know?
Did you know the wax removal industry is unregulated, meaning no training is required. But don’t take our word for it, see the BBC News link.
To save £15/£20 on an appointment could lead to damage or injury is just not worth it, for the sake of your hearing.
When making an appointment always ask the following questions about the person carrying out the procedure:
- Are they a qualified audiologist?
- Are they HCPC (Health and Care Professions Council) or CQC (Care Quality Commission) registered?
- Do they have indemnity insurance?
- Do they use an ENT microscope (as in the “micro” in microsuction)?
If the answer to any of the above is no, then please think again.
Bringing You From Plugged To Clear, Safely & Easily
Ear wax is naturally produced by the glands in the outer third of your ear canal. It helps to lubricate and protect the skin in your ears, as it has antibacterial properties and helps to repel dirt.
We have noticed there can be issues with accessing ear wax removal services, so we now offer ear cleaning in our hearing aid centres in Edinburgh, Auchterarder and Gullane.
There are three main ways that we remove wax at our hearing aid centres.
With you every step of the way
On occasion, patients may have more complex ear canals (those that have had surgery or those with perforations in the eardrum) where an ENT consultant would need to carry out the procedure; we are able to organise this for you. Edinburgh Hearing Practice is fully qualified to perform both irrigation and microsuction.
Please contact us if you would like any more details on this service or you would like to speak to us about ear wax removal.
